BOOM – 6th Balkan OdonatOlogical Meeting

Die Society of Odonatologists of Serbia und die Association HabiProt laden zusammen mit der Slovene Dragonfly Society vom 5. bis 12. August 2016 nach Serbien zum BOOM 2016 ein. Angeboten werden Exkursionen, Vorträge und Workshops sowie Freilanduntersuchungen im südöstlichen Teil des Landes. Die Anmeldung ist bis zum 15. Juli 2016 möglich und kann über das Anmeldeformular erfolgen. Die Teilnehmerzahl ist begrenzt. Dear Friends and Colleagues, The Society of Odonatologist of Serbia and Association HabiProt together with Slovene Dragonfly Society organize the 6th Balkan Odonatological Meeting (BOOM 2016) that will take place in Serbia from 5th to 12th August 2016. The Balkan Odonatological Meeting combines field studies, lectures and workshops on dragonflies and damselflies. During camp the participants will have the opportunity to investigate dragonfly fauna of the Southeastern part of the country. Field trip will lead us to many unexplored habitats between two main localities, Sokobanja on the north and Vlasina to the south of Južna Morava basin (Južno Pomoravlje). We also invite the participants to present their findings and work on Odonata with their own lectures. Both amateur and professional odonatologists are invited, with students from the Balkan as the main public. Participants from other countries are very welcomed to join the meeting as well. Registration fee will be 70 EUR for students and unemployed graduated biologists and 120 EUR for others (60 EUR and 110 EUR for the participants who will present their research on dragonflies). For those who plan to join us only partly, daily fee will be 20 EUR. In case we provide some additional funding, the registration fee may be lower. 35. Jahrestagung der Gesellschaft deutschsprachiger Odonatologen (GdO) e.V. vom 18.-20. März 2016 in Mainz

Die nächste Jahrestagung der GdO wird vom 18.-20. März 2016 in Mainz stattfinden. Die Tagung findet in Kooperation mit dem Institut für Evolutionäre Ökologie der Universität Mainz und dem Landesamt für Umwelt, Wasserwirtschaft und Gewerbeaufsicht Rheinland-Pfalz statt.

Erstmalig werden wir in Zusammenarbeit mit atmosfair eine klimaneutrale GdO-Tagung veranstalten.

Am Freitagabend wird Dirk Mikolajewski einen öffentlichen Vortrag halten. Als Tagungsstätte am Samstag und Sonntag dient der Hörsaal „Muschel“ der Universität Mainz. Den Gesellschaftsabend am Samstag werden wir in der Innenstadt im Erbacher Hof verbringen.

Wir planen wieder einen Poster- und einen Jungreferenten/Innen-Wettbewerb. Alle Teilnehmer/Innen am Jungreferenten/Innen-Wettbewerb bekommen die Teilnahme am Gesellschaftsabend geschenkt, müssen aber für die Kosten an den Getränken aufkommen.

Wir haben ein Kontingent von 50 Zimmern im Intercity Hotel Mainz (Tel. 06131-588510, E-Mail: mainz@intercityhotel.de) reserviert, dies liegt sehr verkehrsgünstig zwischen den drei Veranstaltungsorten (Einzelzimmer 79,00 €, Doppelzimmer 105,00 €). Reservierungen unter dem Stichwort „GdO“ sind dort bitte bis spätestens 05.02.2016 möglich. Auch im Erbacher Hof ist eine Übernachtung möglich.

Ab September 2015 ist eine Anmeldung möglich.
